Warner Bros. has optioned the rights to the biography “Buzz: the Life and Art of

Busby Berkeley

” with

Ryan Gosling

attached to produce and possibly star.

Jeffrey Spivak penned the biography and Gosling would produce with

Marc Platt

, who also produced the Ryan Gosling pic “Drive.”

Berkeley, the noted director and choreographer during the golden age of Hollywood, worked on such pics as 1933’s “42nd Street” and “She Had to Say Yes.”

The studio will now look for a writer to pen the script. Chantal Nong will oversee for the studio.

Gosling most recently wrapped production on his directorial debut “How to Catch A Monster” which Warner Bros. will also distribute.
