The man walked into the Albany Bank & Trust branch, 3400 W. Lawrence Ave., about 12:55 p.m., and made a threatening demand for money, said FBI Chicago office spokeswoman Special Agent Joan Hyde. The man implied that he had a gun, but did not display one, Hyde said.
The man left the bank without any money, Hyde said.
The man is described as black, with a dark complexion, between the ages of 60 and 70, standing about 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-6, according to the FBI, correcting earlier information about his description. He was wearing a black quilted coat and a black knit cap with a thin white stripe.
Anyone with information about the robbery is asked to call the Chicago office of the FBI at 312-421-6700.
