A Lake County sheriff’s deputy has been released from a hospital after being injured in an accident this morning involving his SUV squad car and a garbage truck near Beach Park, authorities said.
The accident occurred around 5:35 a.m. near Wadsworth and McAree roads, according to Sgt. Sara Balmes with the sheriff’s department.
No other vehicles were involved and no other injuries reported, she said. The deputy was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville and has been released.
Balmes had no details on how the collision occurred, but said more information would be available later today.
