At least eight people were shot this morning and Saturday afternoon on the South and West Sides.
Police are also investigating the death of a man whose body was found by a man brushing snow off his car in the Lawndale neighborhood.
At 7:30 a.m. the man called 911 after finding the body lying on a sidewalk in the 4300 block of West Cullerton Street. The unidentified victim, who is between the ages of 20 and 25, suffered a wound on his lower back, police said.
Seven people were shot this morning and an eighth on Saturday, police said.
In the most recent attack, a 54-year-old man was shot about 6:55 a.m. in the 5600 block of South Western Avenue.
About 6 a.m., someone in a vehicle shot a man and woman inside another vehicle in the 4700 block of South Throop Street.
Earlier, a 36-year-old man was shot about 4:30 a.m. in the 500 block of North Pine Avenue, in the Austin neighborhood on the West Side.
About 3:45 a.m. in the Gresham neighborhood, a 41-year-old man was shot in the 1500 block of West 79th Street. The man was was standing in an alley when shots rang out and he realized he was struck.
About 2:55 a.m., a 34-year-old man was shot in the elbow in the 500 block of West 104th Street, police said. The man was riding in a vehicle when he heard gunfire and felt a bullet graze his elbow.
Earlier, about 12:25 a.m. a 23-year-old man was hurt in a drive-by shooting in the 3600 block of South Rhodes Avenue. Someone in a passing dark sedan opened fire, striking the man in the lower right leg. The man was taken to Mercy Hospital and Medical Center, where his condition was stabilized.

Saturday afternoon in the Homan Square neighborhood, a 29-year-old man was shot about 2:40 p.m. in the 700 block of South Homan Avenue.
