Chicago-based marketing technology firm BrightTag has raised $27 million in funding led by Yahoo! Japan and signed a long-term partnership with the Asian company.

Yahoo! Japan is the company’s exclusive reseller in that country, and the two firms have partnered since October 2012. The $27 million investment in BrightTag marks the Chicago firm’s largest round and brings total funding to $50 million, according to Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s office, which announced the news.
