From an offensive standpoint, Nebraska coach Bo Pelini has no worries.
His Cornhuskers return most of the key players from an offense that averaged 34.8 points per game last season. None of those returnees is more crucial than quarterback Taylor Martinez, who racked up 3,890 yards of total offense last season.
Nebraska returns 84 percent of its offensive production from last season, led by tailback Ameer Abdullah, receiver Kenny Bell, and Martinez.
“Yeah, I really like our offense,” Pelini said during the Big Ten Kickoff Luncheon. “It’s coming back, and obviously it starts with the quarterback position, having a four-year starter at quarterback and some really dynamic weapons around them.

“I think we have the opportunity to have probably the best offensive line on paper, potentially, that we’ve had since I’ve been here … not only the starters, but some of the backups and the depth that we have really across the board.”
Nebraska finished last season 10-4, including a 7-0 mark at home. The Cornhuskers’ ended the season by surrendering 115 points in back-to-back losses to Wisconsin (Big Ten Championship) and Georgia (Capital One Bowl), which puts the pressure on the defense to improve this season.
