Commonwealth Edison Chief Executive Anne Pramaggiore has joined the board at Schaumburg-based Motorola Solutions along with a partner at hedge fund ValueAct Capital.

The addition of Pramaggiore and ValueAct’s Bradley Singer brings the company’s board to 10 members. Pramaggiore became president and CEO at ComEd this year after having served as the utility’s chief operating officer. ValueAct, an activist hedge fund, had a 9.9 percent stake in Motorola Solutions as of March 2012, according to a regulatory filing. Singer, the former chief financial officer of Discovery Communications, joined ValueAct this year and is based in the firm’s San Francisco office.

Separately, Motorola Solutions said Friday it will pay out a quarterly dividend of 26 cents per share on Jan. 15, to stockholders of record as of Dec. 14.

The company reported earnings on Wednesday that beat Wall Street expectations. Motorola Solutions’ stock closed Friday up 3.3 percent at $51.63.
