CompTIA, an information technology industry association, will play a key role in Illinois’ efforts to boost science, technology, engineering and math education in the state.

CompTIA Workforce Development LLC will act as the lead entity for the Information Technology Learning Exchange, part of the Illinois Pathways Race to the Top, Gov. Pat Quinn announced Friday.

The various learning exchanges are intended to be public-private partnerships that will offer industry-specific online resources related to different careers.

The Downers Grove-based association’s members include executives at companies such as Juniper Networks, Hwelett-Packard, Verizon and McAfee.
