Any clarity on Tommy Rees’ legal status will wait another week.
The Notre Dame quarterback had his Tuesday hearing continued until July 24 due to a scheduling conflict with his attorney, a spokeswoman for the prosecutors’ office said Monday.
Rees, 20, was arrested May 3 after he ran from an off-campus party and allegedly kneed a police officer in the chest. He pleaded not guilty to four misdemeanor charges later in the month: one count of battery, one count of illegal consumption of alcohol by a minor and two counts of resisting law enforcement.
Notre Dame’s first preseason practice is set for Aug. 4.
