Non-stop air service has launched between Chicago’s Midway Airport and Manistee, Mich., which sits on that state’s west coast, between Ludington and Traverse City.

Jet Purple Airways, a brand of Public Charters, Inc., is offering 10 weekly flights between Midway and Manistee. Roundtrip fares cost between about $120 and $200.

This service was enabled by a two-year federal subsidy through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Essential Air Service program, which provides air service to rural communities, according to the Chicago Department of Aviation.
