At last month’s Write Club, a competitive literary reading series, the theme was class warfare. And yet the whole evening felt oddly comfortable, like a raucous dinner conversation among writers in front of a (possibly tipsy) audience — all cozy inside the wood-paneled, rumpus-room-like bar, The Hideout. J.W. Basilo recounted his grandmother’s foul-mouthed opinions on government spending. Ian Belknap pretended to be a robber baron pitching the idea of using peasants as fuel. And Megan Stielstra pulled at heartstrings with a story about figuring out what’s important in life.

It’s a vibe that is likely to be present at this Tuesday night’s edition of Write Club, fittingly themed March Madness.
