If you’re willing to brave the cold weather and snow, Chicago is celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birthday on Sunday and MLK Day on Monday in several spots around town.

The DuSable Museum will have a

King Day Celebration

all day on Monday, which will include nine live performances, a movie, a few exhibits and radio stations Power 92 and WVON will be there, too.

The Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University will have a “

Too Hot to Handel: The Jazz-Gospel Messiah

” concert to honor MLK on Sunday at 3 p.m.

There will be another jazz and gospel concert by the

Brotherhood Chorale of the Apostolic Church of God

on Sunday at 5 p.m.

The

Chicago History Museum

will have speeches and music performances on Monday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., and it’ll include kids’ crafts, too.

There’s another kid friendly event happening at the

Chicago Children’s Museum

called “What does it mean, Dr. King?” several times on Monday.
