The Travel & Adventure Show is returning to the Chicago area for an eighth consecutive year January 28 and 29.
Samantha Brown, who spends more than 200 days a year traveling for her “Passport” series on The Travel Channel will speak both days (Saturday at 1:30 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.), with autograph sessions to follow. Also appearing will be Travel Channel host Mark DeCarlo, who will host a “Fiery Foods Challenge” featuring Chicago area chefs, and Patricia Schultz, author of “1,000 Places To See Before You Die.”
There will also be more than 100 exhibitors on hand, along with a 15,000-gallon heated scuba pool, a rock wall for climbing and a live camel for riding (yes, really).
The show will be at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, 5555 N. River Road, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Adult admission is $9 at the show’s website with promotional code CHPR or $15 at the door. Children 16 and younger are free.
