A man was shot in the head and killed in North Chicago this afternoon, the Lake County coroner said.
Coroner Artis Yancey said the man, who’s not yet been identified, appears to be in his late 20s or early 30s. He was pronounced dead at Vista East Medical Center in Waukegan.
North Chicago police could not immediately be reached for comment. Yancey said the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force has been called in to investigate the shooting.
An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday.
