Wrigley Field’s grass “held up really well” during the Paul McCartney concerts, according to ballpark operations manager Carl Rice.

“Roger (Baird’s) team did a great job of getting it back to playable shape,” Rice said before the start of a homestand Friday. “The only sod that needed to be replaced was in the right field corner. We’ve done that for every show.”

A large area in right field was the only real visible sign of wear-and-tear after Sunday’s and Monday’s concerts. Right field gets more use because the equipment comes and exits from the large gate there.
