has just turned a five- or six-hour, one-stop flight into a 90-minute nonstop from Midway Airport in Chicago to Branson, Mo. Previously, flying from Chicago to the music city (lower case) meant connecting in Denver or Atlanta, which is still the deal on other airlines.
We checked AirTran flights for mid-August. The nonstops were running as low as about $100 each way, probably a good enough deal for a couple. Three or four people might want to consider the drive instead, if they have the time.
