We haven’t had a military/airline controversy like this since Pentagon officials were busted a few years back for flying first class while soldiers in the field had to pay their own way home on leave. USA Today reports that other airlines now are trying to prevent a similar fiasco as experienced by Delta, which charged soldiers returning from Afghanistan for excess checked bags. The airline later apologized and changed its policy.
