I consider it a victory if I can find a decent Manhattan hotel for less than $200 a night, especially if there’s enough room to actually walk around the bed. So if I can score a $149 room at the Yotel, opening in June, I’d count myself lucky. The Yotel website shows what looks like a futurist fantasy, though the company says its 669 hotel “cabins” are inspired by first-class airline cabins, owing to Yotel locations at European airports. Check in/out will be airport style, with kiosks. A robotic arm will help with luggage. And each room, including a complimentary breakfast from the “kitchen” galley on each floor, comes with a motorized moving bed to conserve space, quiet cooling and heating, free “super-strength” WiFi and a work station. The bath includes a monsoon power shower. The luxury cabins come with a terrace and — what better way to view Manhattan — a hot tub. The Yotel, two blocks from Times Square, is at 42nd Street and 10th Avenue. See
