The second Milwaukee Film Festival will run Sept. 21-Oct. 3 and this year includes a second wrinkle that might make a good reason to bring your wee one north: a film fest for children.
Intended for audiences as young as 3, the children’s portion will feature two full-length films from around the world and three shorts programs each Saturday and Sunday of the 11-day festival.
More Top Picks Duster
Kids will also receive materials to take home relevant to each film (homework never sounded so fun) and have the opportunity to discuss the movies in post-screening workshops.
The children’s festival will take place Sept. 25 and 26 (at the Marcus North Shore Cinema in Mequon) and Oct. 2 and 3 (at the Marcus Ridge Cinema in New Berlin). Some screenings will also happen at the Landmark Oriental Theatre in Milwaukee.
