Is Rachel Bilson “the mother”? “The O.C.” actress will guest star on the epic “How I Met Your Mother” 100th-episode jamboree, scheduled to air Jan. 11 on CBS. Bilson plays Cindy, a woman who, according to zap2it.com, will bring Josh Radnor’s Ted Mosby “one step closer to meeting the future mother of his kids.” Regardless of whether Bilson is the mysterious “mother” we’ve been hearing about for five seasons, her casting makes us wonder: How does the pretty darn average Ted get all the hot chicks? Seriously, Ted is one lucky guy. Let’s flip through his little black book, shall we?
Mandy Moore
The usually squeaky-clean Moore bad-assed herself up to play Amy, a biker chick who seduces Ted and causes him to get a butterfly tramp stamp.
Real-life plausibility: Low. No way a wannabe Hell’s Angel would be into dorky Ted.
Sarah Chalke
The “Scrubs” star played Stella, who ends up leaving Ted at the altar.
Real-life plausibility: Moderate. At least Stella — a hot doctor, for goodness sake — realized her mistake before taking the plunge.
Laura Prepon
It was a running joke on “That ’70s Show” that Prepon was too hot for Topher Grace, but “HIMYM” didn’t go that route when Prepon played Karen, Ted’s pretentious high school girlfriend.
Real-life plausibility: Moderate. The architect/foodie Ted has his share of stuck-up moments too.
Danica McKellar
Yup, Winnie from “The Wonder Years” sleeps with Ted, then skips out via the fire escape.
Real-life plausibility: Moderate. Ted bears a passing resemblance to Fred Savage, right?
Cobie Smulders
Ted dated his fellow “HIMYM” regular Robin for most of Season 2, breaking up because he wanted marriage and she didn’t.

Real-life plausibility: High. This pair’s relationship at least was based on being friends first.
Lindsay Price
Before her “Lipstick Jungle” and “Witches of Eastwick” flopped, Price guest-starred as Cathy, the annoying chatterbox Ted dates and dumps.
Real-life plausibility: High. Price and Radnor ended up dating in real life, breaking up just last month, according to people.com.
