Jennifer Hudson has signed on to star in “Winnie,” a biopic about the former wife of South Africa’s first black president, Nelson Mandela, according to variety.com. Playing Ugandan baddie Idi Amin earned Forest Whitaker an Oscar, so it makes sense for Hudson to try her hand at Mandela, who has had a very checkered history. Hopefully Jen, as Winnie, will break into a heart-wrenching song titled “Losing Nelson” in the movie.
This casting news has RedEye wondering which other stars should play world leaders or leaders’ wives in biopics.

Imelda Marcos
played by Eva Longoria Parker
As first lady of the Philippines, Marcos loved attention and loved looking good, so diva Eva can deliver that, plus she likely would swoon over the immense shoe wardrobe.
Carla Bruni Sarkozy
played by Megan Fox
Both hot, both brunet, both stylish, both arm candy for their less-fabulous older men. But can Fox pull off a credible French accent?
Margaret Thatcher
played by
Kate Winslet
She proved she can convincingly play old in “The Reader,” so portraying the Iron Lady of England should be a snap. Winslet in a Maggie hair helmet would be movie magic.
Angela Merkel
