If there’s any shame left in Lindsay Lohan, she should be red-cheeked right now.
This week, Emanuel Ungaro weighed in on Lohan’s gig as a fashion consultant for the line he founded, according to popeater.com. An apparently upset Ungaro joined a chorus of other style gurus who called her Paris Fashion Week debut a “disaster.”
“I am furious but I can’t do anything about it,” Ungaro, who no longer has any affiliation with that house of fashion, reportedly said, adding the line is in danger of “losing its soul.”
Apparently, Lohan of the messy relationships, substance abuse issues, daddy problems and CAPS LOCK blogging, believes a top fashion line consists of glittery heart-shaped nipple pasties; nearly butt-baring skirts; and what the pop-eating peeps described as “shamelessly low necklines.”
Raise your hand if you’re surprised. Is there really any wonder the wayward, topless Twit pic-taking LiLo isn’t exactly poised to crush Christian Siriano? The wonder is that anyone thought she could.
LiLo isn’t the only celeb who should stop with the side gigs.
Consider these one-track wonders:
Steven Seagal
When I recently saw the promo for “Steven Seagal Lawman” at the movies, I mistook it for a spoof ad meant to deter audience members from using their phones during the film. Stunned into silence by footage of a squinty-eyed Seagal in a bulletproof vest, I waited for the line: “It takes one call to reach the police and just one to ruin a movie.” No such luck. In December, A&E will actually air a reality series that shows Seagal — a longtime Louisiana deputy — teaching martial arts to his cop colleagues and smack talking suspects in what can only charitably be described as unintelligible English. Is it fair to interrogate suspects who didn’t understand the mumbled Miranda rights?

He may be one of the biggest bullies to hit hip-hop culture, but you’ve got to respect 50’s business acumen. What I can’t respect is his acting skills, or lack thereof. Despite several box office opportunities, including “Righteous Kill,” “Home of the Brave,” and even a film based on his own life, “Get Rich or Die Tryin’,” the man has shown no ability to emote. When he, ahem, acts, it’s with the same sing songy, dead-eyed delivery that makes him a mix-tape murderer. Much success to him on diverse investments from Vitamin Water to cologne, but I’m done listening to his demo when it comes to character acting.
