Only to go bowling
Brandon Spikes got turned on to football by watching Dick Butkus clips on NFL Films. LeGarrette Blount’s actions were unacceptable in any era. If Oregon and the Pac-10 want to show some sympathy, they should reinstate him for the postseason — i.e. the Ducks’ bowl game. But not before. A season-long suspension should be just that.

Right this wrong
Of course the Pac-10 should reinstate him.
The problem with Oregon’s decision to suspend LeGarrette Blount for the season after he punched Boise State’s Byron Hout on Sept. 3 was the school acted swiftly but didn’t take enough time. A season-long suspension was probably too much, but it seemed acceptable at the time.
