player ready...Whether you love ’em, hate ’em or love-to-hate ’em, the quasi-reality hits “The Hills” and “The City” are back with new episodes at 9 and 9:30 p.m. Tuesday. Lauren Conrad won’t grace your TiVo this time around, but MTV’s found a new blond, old “Laguna Beach” diva Kristin Cavallari, to stand up to Speidi. Tuesday’s “Hills” also is one of the last episodes featuring Audrina Patridge, who has since left the show to pursue a movie career. Loved that “Sorority Girls,” ‘Drina!
Over on the East Coast, “The City’s” Whitney Port has a whole new slew of friends. She’s also ditched Diane von Furstenberg’s office this season to rejoin forces with the acid-tongued fashion icon Kelly Cutrone. We vote for watching both train-wreck shows, but if you have only 30 minutes, here’s the rundown on each. Just don’t expect to gossip over “The Hills” with Conrad. She was pretty blunt when MTV asked her if she’d watch it now that she’s off the show: “I’m not planning on it.”
