It may not be Max Yasgur’s farm, but the grounds of the Galt Airport will have to do. Commemorate the 40th anniversary of the original, three-day Woodstock Festival with throngs of like-minded music fans at A Woodstock Illinois Tribute. Nine tribute bands round out the lineup, to best re-create the three days of peace, love and music experienced this exact weekend 40 years ago in New York. Kelven Dyson, as Jimi Hendrix, will open the show, followed by Lauren Bernal practically bringing Janis Joplin back from the dead. Saturday brings Creedence Again to the stage with famous tunes by Creedence Clearwater Revival, and Boney Fingers caters to the Deadheads in the audience with a jamming Grateful Dead set. Alan Kaye closes out the weekend with his take on Joe Cocker. John Belushi is smiling somewhere from beyond the grave. 6:30 p.m. Friday, 3 p.m. Saturday, Galt Airport, 5112 Greenwood Rd., Wonder Lake. $40 for a two-day pass, $30 for Saturday only, $20 for Friday only; 815-648-4591, ext. 10, or tribute2woodstock.com
