If you’re one of those indie rock snobs who worries about Lollapalooza becoming too commercial, you might want to sit down for this.

Lindsay Lohan was spotted at a Lollapalooza after party at the Hard Rock Hotel, for the second year in a row. The actress-singer (try saying that with a straight face) watched The Virgins from backstage. She was accompanied by her younger sister, unlike last year when she was in town to support DJ Samantha Ronson.
Before hitting the Hard Rock Hotel on Friday, Lohan dined at Hub 51 with her sister, Ronson and five other friends.
If only they had stopped by Saturday night, they could have run into Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler, who hung out in downstairs’ Sub 51 with tight end Greg Olsen.
But, alas, it wasn’t meant to be.
Waiting game: The Hard Rock Hotel after parties easily had the weekend’s longest lines, mostly because of the free booze.
Chicago Bulls forward Luol Deng hung out on Friday, while “That ’70’s Show” actor Danny Masterson deejayed. I ran into Masterson at Playboy’s “Rock Star Brunch” at the Hilton on Saturday and asked if people nag him with song requests.
“Yeah,” he said. “But I don’t listen.”
Wu-Tang Clan’s GZA performed during Saturday’s Hard Rock party and had the part-hipster-part-scenester crowd throwing up the Wu-Tang “W.”
Lollapalooza headliners The Yeah Yeah Yeahs were in attendance, as were former MTV “TRL” host Quddus and three-time NFL Pro Bowler Simeon Rice, who watched as his sister Yashi performed.
The Shrine’s big week: No other club is pulling in big name hip-hop artists like The Shrine. In its first three months, the South Loop venue has brought in Slick Rick, Rakim, Ne-Yo and Talib Kweli. This past week, Ludacris and Sean Paul stopped by.
I’m a fan of Ludacris’ song “Undisputed,” so I asked him why he had boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. make a cameo on the track
“Rap is real competitive just the same way boxing is,” said Ludacris. “We always talk about taking other rappers out. That being said, I feel like I’m the best rapper. I wanted to get the best boxer in the game [for the song].”
Welcome back, Jermaine: Jermaine Dupri was back in The Underground DJ booth on Thursday for the second time in three weeks. The hip-hop producer went on around 12:30 a.m. and included a half hour Michael Jackson tribute in his set. Earlier that night, Dupri was seen talking to actress Joy Bryant during Pete Yorn’s after party at W Chicago-City Center. He also dined at Sunda, which seems to be a requirement for celebs these days.
About this week: Angels & Kings turned a year old in June, but the real celebration will take place this Saturday, . That’s when co-owner and Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz will host an athe 1st Year Anniversary Party. Wentz He will be joined by the Plain White T’s, who will be performing at the River North bar.
The event will serve as sort of an anniversary/Fall Out Boy, Blink 182 after-show party. The two bands will be performing at the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre on Saturday, along with Panic at the Disco.
