Seems as though summer is going out with a bang in the bargains department. After perusing catalog sales galore, we’re longing to snap up a few last-minute discounted goodies at three of our local favorites:
Jayson Home & Garden: Jayson’s garden sale (all plants 30 percent to 50 percent off, containers 50 percent off) winds down Monday, as does their floor-model sale (up to 50 percent off fine furniture); 1885 N. Clybourn Ave., or shop online at jaysonhomeandgarden.com.
The Golden Triangle: The Asian antiques store (330 N. Clark St.) is celebrating the 20th anniversary of its sidewalk and warehouse sale, through Saturday, with discounts of up to 50 percent on some great Asian and European pieces. Peek at the inventory at goldentriangle.biz; a Thonet chair for $260 and some great storage pieces in the under-$2,000 range have us reaching for those well-used credit cards.
City Escape: You can find reductions of up to 75 percent at City Escape’s annual Yard Sale. The garden center and interior accents boutique (3022 W. Lake St.) has shrubs and trees at 40 percent off, and bistro sets at 30 percent to 50 percent off. (Hint: Discontinued colors are 75 percent off.) Everything has some kind of markdown, but prices return to normal Sept. 1.
