A former “American Idol” hopeful, whose expletive-filled rant when rejected for the show became a viral video sensation, was killed Saturday in New Jersey after being struck by a car.

Alexis Cohen, 25, was found dead on a street in Seaside Heights, N.J., Saturday morning in what police are calling an “apparent homicide.”

Cohen of Allentown, Pa., auditioned for the seventh season of Fox’s “American Idol.” After being mocked by judge Simon Cowell, Cohen unleashed a tirade replete with expletives and middle fingers.

Cohen failed in the audition round when she returned this past season.
