Fans of the cult classic “The Big Lebowski” will know the Gipsy Kings from the band’s frenzied rendition of The Eagles’ “Hotel California” that played over Jesus’ bowling escapades. It’s a far cry from the original, overplayed version authored by the ’70’s behemoths, but the song exemplifies what the Gipsy Kings do best: wow audiences with deft guitar work and passion-filled performances. Hailing from France, this band is a family affair as two sets of relatives fill out the lineup. Specializing in Rumba Catalana (pop-oriented flamenco music), the Gipsy Kings sizzle the perfect complement to a seemingly endless summer night. 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Ravinia Festival, 200-231 Ravinia Park Rd., Highland Park. $65 for reserved seats, $23 for lawn seats; 847-266-5100 or ravinia.org.
