TD BANKNORTH GARDEN 11:30 A.M.
BULLS 105, CELTICS 103 (0T)
8 p.m.; BLACKHAWKS VS. FLAMES
UNITED CENTER, CHICAGO
The day got started at 5 a.m. at O’Hare International Airport for a flight to Boston. At TD Banknorth Garden before the game, Derrick Rose was exiting the Bulls’ locker room and getting ready to take on the defending champion Celtics. He scored 36 points, and had help from Joakim Noah in a stunning overtime upset. The extended finish meant a hurried trip back to Boston’s Logan Airport, and a quick turnaround for a 7:42 p.m. arrival at the United Center — but still plenty of time to catch the fans getting their lungs warmed up for the main event. Flames goalie Miikka Kiprusoff’s early diving stops kept the crowd quiet, but the Hawks burned him for three goals in the second period, and as the final seconds ticked off the clock, the Hawks’ bench gets ready to celebrate a 3-2 win.
