The stepdaughter of a powerful city councilman (Scott Cohen) narrowly escapes death when her boyfriend is killed in what appears to be a drug-related shooting, but Detectives Goren and Eames (Vincent D’Onofrio, Kathryn Erbe) soon discover the victim had been planning to blackmail the politician.
Monday: “Bones” (7 p.m., WFLD-Ch. 32). In this new episode on a special night, Brennan (Emily Deschanel) suspects that the death of a colleague was not an accident.
Tuesday: “Frontline: Poisoned Waters” (9 p.m., WTTW-Ch. 11). More than two decades after the Clean Water Act was supposed to make the waters of America clean enough to swim and fish in again, the coastal estuaries of Puget Sound and Chesapeake Bay face perilous conditions caused by contamination from industry, agriculture and suburban development. Hedrick Smith explores why it is so hard to keep the country’s waters clean.
Wednesday: “Lost: The Story of the Oceanic Six” (8 p.m., WLS-Ch. 7). If you’re lost about where key “Lost” characters are headed and where they have been, this clip show — which airs instead of a fresh episode and which promises “illuminating” information for new viewers and for hard-core fans of the show — should bring you up to speed.
Thursday: “Trouble the Water” (7:30 p.m., HBO). This haunting documentary presents an unprecedented and very personal perspective on Hurricane Katrina’s battering of New Orleans, filmed by aspiring rap star Kimberly Roberts and her husband, Scott, after they and their 9th Ward neighbors become trapped in the city as the storm bears down. Equipped with meager supplies and a camcorder, the couple document their harrowing ordeal.
Friday: “Return to Tarawa” (9 p.m., Military Channel). This documentary, which is narrated by Ed Harris, recounts veteran Leon Cooper’s attempts to clean up and create a memorial at Red Beach on Tarawa Island in the Pacific, where more than 1,600 American Marines and sailors fell during a bloody battle during World War II.

Saturday: ‘Grey Gardens’
7 p.m., HBO. Jessica Lange (left) and Drew Barrymore star in a fictional version of the famous documentary of the same name about an eccentric mother and daughter living in a decaying mansion.
