Get a jump-start on Earth Day with Green for Good, an event promoting eco-awareness through crafts, storytelling and a petting zoo. Grabbing the attention of younger generations early is the key to maintaining the Earth’s viability for the future. The evocative Jim Walser of C.R.I.CKET will use the art of storytelling to engage and educate kids on the importance of our planet in his “Earth Day Every Day” program. Using some well-known tales like “The Phantom of the Opera,” Walser will introduce children to concepts geared toward preserving nature. Kids will also have a chance to try their hands at twisting and decorating soft pretzels alongside the folks of Kim & Scott’s Gourmet Pretzels. 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, The Glen Town Center, 2651 Navy Blvd., Glenview. Free; 847-724-2025 or theglentowncenter.com
