Sometimes you just gotta dance. Or, at the very least, watch the lithe bodies of professionals flit and fly across a stage in ways you can only dream of imitating. Those who can do and those who can’t are relegated to the role of spectator. It’s not a bad spot to be in. This show presents a few noted programs within the River North Chicago Dance Company’s flashy repertoire. Revel in the Afro-beat rhythms of “Uhuru” and support homegrown talent with “Tuscan Rift,” which features the musical dexterity of Chicago’s indie rocker Andrew Bird and French composer Rene Aubry. 8 p.m. Saturday, Centre East at The Northshore Center for the Performing Arts, 9501 Skokie Blvd., Skokie. $46; 847-673-6300 or northshorecenter.org.
