So many movies debut in the theater each week, it’s often hard to keep track of the various titles. Unless you create a to-see list of films that catch your eye, once they leave the cinema they fall through the cracks of a memory bank beleaguered by the rush of day-to-day information. And forget about going to the video store to rent a film. How many times do you find yourself standing in the aisle surrounded by movies only to draw a complete blank? If “Persepolis” rings a bell, here is a chance to see the Academy Award-nominated animated film outside of your living room and in an environment closer to the experience you might have had if you actually made it to the movie theater in 2007 when it was originally released. “Persepolis” is an adaptation of Marjane Satrapi’s graphic novel and won the Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007. It’s an emotional coming-of-age story following a young girl living in the throes of the Iranian Revolution. 7:30 p.m. Friday, Lumber Center for the Performing Arts at the College of Lake County, 19351 W. Washington St, Room A162, Grayslake. Free; 847-543-2555 or jlcenter.clcillinois.edu.
