The season opener between the Kansas City Royals and White Sox scheduled for Monday has been postponed because snow is in the forecast.
The game will be played at 1:05 p.m. Tuesday. Opening Day festivities will be held before the first pitch. This was the first time since 1982 that the opener for the White Sox was postponed because of bad weather.
RedEye thinks they should just suck it up and play. If the Blackhawks can play at Wrigley in January, surely the Sox can play at the Cell in April. Here’s how they could do it.
– All players huddle around manager Ozzie Guillen. He’s a hothead, you know.
– Drink beer instead of Gatorade. That’s what fans do on cold days.
– Those sunflower seeds the players eat in the dugout? Make them extra spicy by pouring habanero sauce into each bag.
– Turn each dugout into one huge tanning booth.
– Two words: long underwear. That’s what Soxman uses.
