What’s the perfect St. Patrick’s Day accessory? Besides green beer and a kicky leprechaun hat, that is.
How about green nail polish? Here are five faves, one for each finger.
Thumb: Sinful Colors, Irish Green No. 198, $1.99, Walgreens (walgreens.com).
This is the perfect green for the holiday. Warning: It’s very sheer. To get this saturation of color, I needed five coats. Still — it’s perfect St. Pat’s green.
Index finger: OPI, Gargantuan Green Grape, $8.50, Ulta (ulta .com), Sally Beauty Supply (sallybeauty .com) stores.
Not exactly a green a leprechaun would love — in fact, it maybe should be called “gangrene.” But I’m oddly drawn to this shade, and think I’ll be keeping it for summer. 3 coats.
Middle finger: Sally Hansen, Insta-Dri, Jumpin’ Jade, $5.99, CVS (CVS.com), Walgreens.
This really does dry quickly, and the dark shade translates to non-St. Pat’s times of the year. The wide, flat, curved brush makes application a breeze, too. Another keeper. 2 coats.
Ring finger: Sally Hansen, Hard as Nails, Lime Lights, $2.39, Targer (target.com), Walgreens.
A very sheer, pale, pearly green. More mint green than lime green. A more subtle color than the others, and it wears well. 3 coats.
Pinky: Rimmel, 60 Seconds in Camouflage, $3.29, Walgreens.
Nice coverage and a great green shade for St. Patrick’s Day, but a bit too much shimmer for my taste. Dries fast, though. 2 coats.
