Set to premiere March 27 at Chatham 14 Theatre, 210 W. 87th St., the documentary film “Hoop Reality” is a follow-up to the award-winning documentary “Hoop Dreams” that portrayed ex-Marshall star Arthur Agee and former St. Joseph star William Gates as they strived to make a better life for themselves through basketball.
Agee became a big supporter of Beverly, who was an All-State guard as a senior and earned a scholarship to Arkansas where he was a standout his freshman year. “Hoop Reality” follows Beverly’s senior year and also catches on film the beginning Bryant’s conflict at Marshall that led to his firing in August of 2007.
