David Arendt led the way for Triopia (14-0), rushing for 167 yards and two touchdowns on 19 carries.
Arendt’s 42-yard breakaway score in the middle of the fourth quarter put the Trojans ahead 42-0 and set off a running clock. That comes into play whenever a team leads by 40 points or more in the second half.
Arendt’s score came 2 minutes, 35 seconds after Brad Dinsmore returned an interception 61 yards for a touchdown.
By halftime, Triopia already had 299 yards rushing to just two for Stark County (10-4), which finished with 30 yards rushing and 189 yards passing.
Triopia quarterback Kellan Phelps scored on a 2-yard run in the first quarter and Dinsmore had an 11-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter. Arendt followed with a 26-yard TD run to give the Trojans a 22-0 lead at halftime.
Arendt, a 6-foot-2-inch, 205-pound senior, already had 104 yards rushing after the first half. Tim Wise had two fumble recoveries for the Trojans.
