Barrington 8-2, St. Patrick 6-4

Summary:

Cody Seeger’s 11-yard TD pass to Daniel Evers with 5 minutes 54 seconds left in the game was the only score of the fourth quarter and broke a 14-14 tie. Seeger accounted for all three Broncos touchdowns, scoring on runs of 1 and 25 yards. St. Patrick’s Ruben Ibarra intercepted a Seeger pass and returned it 25 yards for a TD for the game’s first points with 3:25 left in the first half. But Seeger marched his team downfield on the ensuing possession and scored from 1-yard out with no time remaining, erasing what would be St. Patrick’s only lead of the game.

Top performers:

Barrington?QB Seeger 19-for-27, 207 yards, TD (11), 15 carries, 53 yards, 2 TDs (1, 25); RB Sam Ojuri 25 carries, 139 yards. St. Patrick?RB Adam Nitsche 23 carries, 133 yards, TD (22).

Extra point:

“That’s one of the most physical games we’ve been in all year,” Barrington’s Seeger said. “It was a total team victory. I had an interception for a touchdown that kind of threw me off a little bit, but we came back. [The ensuing drive] was a big moment for us.”
