Wyoming Gov. Dave Freudenthal, endorsing Barack Obama today, complained of “negativity, partisanship and lack of purpose” which he says is “crippling” the country.

Obama might be able to make a difference as the Democratic presidential nominee, Freudenthal said.

“While no one individual can effect this change alone, the change must begin with someone,” Freudenthal said in a written release. “Sen. Obama is the Democratic candidate with the openness, honesty and skill to end this vicious cycle of business as usual.”

The endorsement comes almost a month after Obama won the Wyoming caucuses, but could have an effect as the Democratic candidates gear up for upcoming primaries in Western states.
