Civil rights icon Rep. John Lewis on Wednesday said he is switching his support from Sen. Hillary Clinton to Sen. Barack Obama, according to a story in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Obama’s campaign issued this statement for the senator: “John Lewis is an American hero and a giant of the civil rights movement, and I am deeply honored to have his support.”
