LOS ANGELES – Elizabeth B. Moynihan, who helped Sen. Hillary Clinton with her first bid for the Senate, has endorsed Sen. Barack Obama’s presidential bid.
The widow of Sen. Daniel Patrick Moynihan, who represented New York for 24 years, said she considers Clinton a friend and good senator, but believes Obama will help rekindle political participation among young people.
In 1999, Clinton announced her candidacy for Moynihan’s Senate seat at his farmhouse in upstate New York. He and his wife stood with Clinton.
