The Fire is in talks to sign French striker Fabrice Pancrate, according to a source. Fire head coach Denis Hamlett and technical director Frank Klopas traveled to France on Monday to begin negotiations with Pancrate. The 27-year old Frenchman currently plays for France’s Sochaux after a brief stint in La Liga with Real Betis.
The Fire acquired the rights to forward Andy Herron in a trade last week with the Columbus Crew but has yet to sign him because he is under contract with Costa Rica’s Puntarenas.
