Dunbar (8-3) was able to keep the game close behind center Darrell Williams’ 20 points and 14 rebounds. But when Williams fouled out, Dunbar’s options in the paint became limited which paved the way for Washington center Michael Haynes.
Haynes improved upon a 1 of 8 first-half free throw shooting performance by hitting 5 of 8 from the charity stripe in the fourth quarter with the game still in question. Haynes finished with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Sophomore Darius Golston led the the Minutemen (4-3) with 18 points.
