Three-pointers by Deanna Ortiz and Hannah Hartman shortly before halftime started a 21-0 run that gave No. 19 Resurrection a victory and a chance to play the No. 2 team in the Chicago area.

The Bandits rolled to a 48-32 victory over Fremd Thursday in the Dundee-Crown holiday tournament and will face unbeaten Buffalo Grove in Friday’s semifinals.

Resurrection (12-3) led 21-20 late in the second quarter before Ortiz hit a three with 1:11 before halftime. Then Hartman hit another one with 30 seconds to go in the half for a 27-20 halftime lead.

Hartman led the Bandits, who last faced Buffalo Grove in the 2006 third-place game of this tournament, with 17 points. Becky Sweeney, who hit six of her nine shots from the field, added 14.

Lauren Zaworski’s seven points led Fremd (6-8), which had upset No. 18 Maine West in the first round Wednesday.
