Fremd notched the first upset of the Dundee-Crown Charger Classic Wednesday, beating No. 18 Maine West 38-36 as sophomore Taylor Glassmann hit the winning shot with 5.2 seconds left.

“Coach said, ‘Taylor, you just get the ball and go. Just make something happen,” said Glassmann, who finished with 11 points, tying Tracey Nachtsheim for team scoring honors.

Glassmann scored seven of her points in the fourth quarter, including a three-pointer that put Fremd (6-7) up 36-34 with 4:14 left. Maine West’s Brittany Begrowicz tied things up at 36-36 with 3:09 left.

Maine West fell to 11-3.
