The Foundation, a watchdog that promotes government transparency, unveiled a new tool on its website today that allows users to track the movements of members of Congress who publicly release their appointment schedules. It’s an extension of the Foundation’s “Punch Clock Campaign,” which in 2006 challenged lawmakers to post their schedules online.
A whopping eight of the 535 House and Senate members accepted the challenge – including Schakowsky, an Illinois Democrat. So now, with a few clicks, you can see that Schakowsky met with the CEO of the Walgreen Company on Sept. 18 in Chicago, or with America’s deputy chief of mission in Pakistan on Oct. 3, or with the Consumer Product Safety Commission in the D.C. area on Nov. 1.
No one else from Illinois has accepted the challenge so far. But if you like, you can see the entire Montana delegation — all three of them.
