About 200 dancers — some in electric-green leotards, leopard-print leggings and basketball jerseys — moved in front of a mirror in the Lou Conte Dance Studio above the West Loop’s Hubbard Street Dance Chicago building at auditions Thursday afternoon. The would-be MTV stars are hoping to get a shot to be on the new reality series “Randy Jackson Presents: America’s Best Dance Crew.”
The show — executive produced and co-created by the “American Idol” judge — is set to air next year. MTV is holding auditions for the show in Los Angeles, New York, Atlanta and Chicago. At stake for the winners are a cash prize and a touring contract.
