Dave Surico’s outlook: Francis Parker might not need a bus to get to North Central College for the Class A state tournament this weekend. The team simply might float there. “It’s a pretty crazy feeling,” senior goalkeeper Charlie Demar said. “We’re like gods at school. There’s a message board on the front of our school. It says, ‘Congratulations, Sectional Champs.’ We’re having a lot of fun with it.” Parker, Bloomington Central Catholic, Manteno and Teutopolis are first-time quarterfinalists. Two-time defending champ Waterloo Gibault opens with Manteno and leading scorer Austin Newsom (29 goals, 25 assists). Teutopolis gets Rochester and 40-goal scorer T.J. Keys. Earlville and 36-goal scorer Seth Stockley meet Winnebago and 34-goal man Andy Huftalin in a matchup of returning quarterfinalists.
