If you attend a campaign event for Sen. Barack Obama, be prepared to appear in a television ad.
Following a common pattern of speaking about an issue, then reinforcing that message with paid advertising, Obama’s Democratic presidential campaign unveiled a new ad this morning that it plans to run in Iowa.
“I went to Detroit to insist that we have to increase fuel efficiency standards,” Obama says in the ad. “Now, I have to admit, the room got kind of quiet.”
The line is one he commonly uses in stump speeches and takes note of a May speech in Detroit.
The ad is called “Quiet” and follows an emphasis on environmental issues Obama has made in the last two weeks in New Hampshire and Iowa.
The campaign refuses to say where or when the commercial, which features several close-ups of audience members, was filmed.
